William E. Thiel

William E. Thiel, 89, of Greensburg, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born November 10, 1926 in Baggaley a son of the late Harvey and Margaret (Squib) Thiel. Bill was a self-employed tool and die maker for 65 years. He truly enjoyed his trade. Bill was known for always telling jokes. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his four sisters Rosella Weppelman, Virginia Herdman, Jean Merlin, and Betty Herdman and two brothers Gilbert and Albert Thiel. Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Frances (Kane) Thiel; two daughters, Susan Johnson of Mt. Pleasant and Cynthia Gressman and husband Rick of Greensburg; one sister, Nira Akins of Derry; one brother, George Thiel and wife Mary of Greensburg; one granddaughter, Cassie Fletcher and husband Matt of Greensburg; one great granddaughter, Kirra Fletcher and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
