Stephen V. Moyher Sr.

Stephen V. Moyher Sr., 88, of Derry Twp., died on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born July 23, 1931, in Hostetter, the son of the late John and Mary Moyher. Prior to retirement, Stephen worked for ICI. He served in the US Air Force. Stephen was a member of the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church, New Derry, and a life time member of the Derry Ukrainian Club. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and spending time with his family. Besides his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by one son Stephen V. Moyher Jr.; seven brothers John, Andrew, Charles, Paul, Eugene, Joseph, and Michael; and three sisters Mary Disciascio, Helen Short, and Theresa Patton. Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Rose M. (McCurdy) Moyher of Derry Twp.; four children Denise Finley and Lou Whitesell of Derry, Michele Moyher of Derry, Jeffery Moyher and wife Denise of Apollo, and Greg Moyher and wife Donna of Derry; one brother Fr. Francis Moyher of Loretto ,PA; one sister Ann Boerio of AZ; 7 grandchildren Joshua and Jeremy Finley, Brian, Matthew, Mylee, Hannah, and Abby Moyher; 1 great granddaughter Alahna Finley and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends for Stephen’s Life Celebration 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Tuesday December 10, 2019 in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry 724-694-8331. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Stephen 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in St. Martin Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola as celebrant.
