Ruth A. (Bigam) Brezo

Ruth A. (Bigam)Brezo, 86, of New Derry, died on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born August 13, 1930 in Mill Run, PA a daughter of the late Ishmael and Dora (Arsenberger) Bigam. Ruth was an LPN at Torrance State Hospital and a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church, New Derry. Ruth enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and sewing. Besides her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her son Matthew T. Brezo; three brothers William and Hughey Bigam, and Thomas Bigham, and two sisters Marion Serovy and Agnes Shipley. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Charles J. “Bud” Brezo of New Derry; one son Mark A. Brezo of New Derry; two daughters Jody M. Brezo of New Derry and Janis A. Loughner and husband L.J. of Loyalhanna; two brothers Robert Bigham and wife Winnie of Farmington, PA and Roger Bigham and wife Ginny of Millerstown, PA; two sisters Adeline Anthony of Perlow Loydsville, PA and Darlene Firestone and husband William of Mill Run; four grandchildren Sam and Shelby Brezo, Sydney, and Seth Loughner and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends for Ruth’s Life Celebration 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday November 30, 2016 in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Thursday December 1, 2016 in the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen C. West as celebrant.
