Roger L. Brant

Roger L. Brant, 66, of Derry Twp., died on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 16, 1951 in Latrobe, the son of late Carl Brant and Nina (Insley) Krawchick.. Prior to retirement Roger worked for Conrail and Norfolk Southern as a machine operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars, being at the beach, and especially his family. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Darlene K. (Erny) Brant of Derry Twp.; one son James J. Brant and wife Buffy of Latrobe; one daughter Teresa L. Sartoris and husband David of Latrobe; two brothers Carl Brant and wife Bethea of Blairsville and Thomas Brant and wife Dianne of Bolivar; one step sister Cathy Jones and husband Marshall of Portage; one half-sister Bonnie Skelly and husband Rod of Altoona; five grandchildren Trevor and Tyler Lowden, LaVeda, Daniel, and Porsche Sartoris the light of his life; his faithful companion Shotgun and many nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends for Roger’s Life Celebration 2-8 PM Tuesday March 13, 2018 in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Wednesday March 14, 2018 in the funeral home with the Pastor James Henigin officiating.
