Richard Anthony Perillo, 74, formerly of Gambrills, Maryland, died peacefully on March 29 at his home in Derry PA. He was born in Jeannette on October 19, 1941. He was the oldest child to the late Violet LaValle Perillo of Jeannette and the late Guido Michael Perillo of Jeannette. He is survived by his wife Lois of Derry and her two sons, Patrick Richards and Todd Demangone; first wife Janet and their daughter Bonnie of Tampa Florida, and by his second wife Jacqueline and their son Richard of Tampa, Florida; one brother Ronald Perillo wife Nancy of Pasadena MD; two sisters, Shirley Casem husband Thomas of Severn MD, and Kathleen Taylor husband Glenn of Bushnell MD; 2 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Richard’s family moved to Washington DC when he was eight years old. A few years later they move to Landover Maryland. He graduated from Bladensburg high School in 1959 and enlisted in the Navy the same year. Richard worked as an auto mechanic specializing in foreign cars. He was the owner of Odenton Import Motors for 20 years. Richard was interested in alternative treatments for prescription drugs. Much of his retirement was spent researching vitamins and herbs as natural cures. Richard wrote 'Boot Camp to Eternity', a book about his three near-death experiences and how they impacted his life. It was published in 2007 under the pen name, R.A. Perill. Richard is remembered as brother, husband, father, cousin, uncle, friend. By those who knew him well, he will be remembered as a philosopher, a jack-of-many trade, maybe a wanderer, a seeker of knowledge, a follower of Christ. A Gathering will be held 10-11AM Friday July 22, 2016 in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N.
