Louis J. Pennesi

Louis J. Pennesi, 74, of New Derry, died June 23, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh surrounded by his family. He was born on November 3, 1950 to the late Louis J. Sr. and Elizabeth “Babe” (Connor) Pennesi. Prior to his retirement, Lou was the Building Maintenance Manager at the PA Turnpike Commission. Lou was a member of the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church in New Derry and the New Derry Sportsman Club. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and annual trips to Rehoboth Beach with his family. Lou was an excellent cook, loved Sunday family dinners, and had an eye for finding treasures at auctions and antique stores. Lou is preceded in death by his beloved parents and his cherished wife of 50 years, Robin L. (Marshall) Pennesi. Lou is survived by his three children: Kristen Gulibon (Jim) of Latrobe, Nadine Myers of New Derry, and Louie J. Pennesi III of New Derry. He is also survived by his brother, John E. Pennesi (Cheryl) of New Derry; his sister, Lorraine M. Cerelli (Greg) of Latrobe; and his sister-in-law, Betsy Marshall Calabrace of Clarksville, TN. He leaves behind four grandchildren who adored their "Pap/Pappy”: Jimmy Gulibon, Alexis Gulibon, Levi Myers, and Taylor Myers. Lou also shared a special bond with his beloved fur baby, Cooper. He was deeply loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Tuesday, July 1, 2025 in the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church, New Derry, with the Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola as celebrant. Inurement will follow in the St. Martin Cemetery, New Derry In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
