Guy L. Champion

Guy L. Champion, 73, of Derry, died Saturday, February 3, 2017 in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born May 3, 1944 in Greensburg, the son of the late Guy L. and Rose A. (Arlotta) Champion. Guy was a coal miner having worked for Helen Mining. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Derry. Guy enjoyed building model cars and painting. In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his three brothers Malvin, David and Charles Champion. Guy is survived by his daughter Rebecca Laich and husband Michael of Derry; one sister Beatrice (Chick) Casteel of Greensburg; 2 grandchildren Sarah and Shannon Laich and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Guy’s wishes were that the funeral services be private. The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements with the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331.
