Francis J. Rachocki, 89, of Derry Twp., died Sunday, March 15, 2026, peacefully at his home, as he went to be with the Lord. He was born April 24, 1936, in Latrobe, a son of the late Sofia (McLaughlin) Rachocki. He served in the Reserve as a Sergeant. Francis was employed by Toyad, Derry Borough Water Authority, and Torrance State Hospital where he retired as the lead electrician. He took pride in being in the Boy Scouts of America for over 70 years for which he was well known. He belonged to the First United Methodist Church in Derry. Francis enjoyed going to minor league baseball games. In his early years he enjoyed going for long drives and traveling with his wife. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Doretha M. (Pritts) Rachocki; one infant son Francis; one infant daughter Bonnie; and two brothers Royal Ferry Sr. and Joseph Rachocki; Francis is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Janice Rachocki; his children David A. Rachocki (Laura) of Blairsville, Frances “Frannie” M. Savage (Chris DiSabato) of Derry, Charles D. Rachocki (Rhonda) of Fayette City, and Brian W. Rachocki (Kristin) of FL; step daughters Karen Baughman (Todd) of Latrobe and Janice Downs (Elliot) of Greensburg; grandchildren David Rachocki (Michelle), Amanda Nemeth (Anders), Samantha Wortman (Michael), Alex Rachocki, Caleb Rachocki, Madison Downs, Gabrille Downs, Ethan Baughman, and Ryan Baughman; great-grandchildren Gunnar, Axel, Sigrid, Austin, and Leah; and also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. All services for Francis are private for the family. The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements with the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331.
