Elizabeth A. “Lisa” (DeCario) Tommasini, 87, of Millwood, died February 25, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 2, 1930, in Millwood, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Mary (Gennaro) DeCario. Lisa was a homemaker and loved taking care of her husband. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the Derry VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was well known for her family Italian dinners, especially the meatballs. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who adored her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sister and best friend, Mary. Besides her parents, Lisa is preceded in death by her husband and soulmate Joseph B. Tommasini in 2014 and two brothers Bruno and Sam DeCario. Lisa is survived by two sons John J. Tommasini and wife Janet of Harrisburg and Joseph A. Tommasini and wife Cheryl of Millwood; one daughter Lisa A. Berkey and husband Raymond of Boalsburg, PA; two sisters Mary Moore of Millwood and Ann Lattanzio of Latrobe; seven grandchildren John, Anthony, Frank, Maria, Joseph, Brian, and Anne; four great grandchildren Michael, Vincent, Giavanna, and Sofia and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Derry VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a service 3:45PM Wednesday February 28, 2018 in the funeral home. Family will receive friends on Wednesday February 28, 2018, 4 – 8 PM at the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc., 529 N. Chestnut Street, Derry, and PA.724-694-8331. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Thursday March 1, 2018 at 10:00AM with Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola as Celebrant.
