Edward A. Kutzer Sr.

Edward A. Kutzer Sr., 78, of Derry Twp., died Monday, February 5, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 13, 1939 in Latrobe, the son of the late Anthony J. and Catherine (Baker) Kutzer. Prior to retirement Ed worked at Teledyne Vasco for 35 years, College ESSO gas station, and as a baker at Netzel’s Bakery for 10 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. New Derry where he loved being a bell ringer and greeter, American Slovak Society, VFW post 3414, Latrobe, Lloydsville Fireman Club, and the First Ward Fireman Club. Ed was “Mr. Fixit” to his family. He was an avid baker, self-taught chef and enjoyed fishing, camping, and wood carving. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his daughter Kim L. Kutzer and one brother Louis G. Kutzer. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 55 plus years Wanda “Bonnie” (Repp) Kutzer of Derry Twp.; five children Sheree Williams of Duquesne, Renee Peter of St. Petersburg, FL, Edward A. Kutzer Jr. and girlfriend Becky Rupert of Derry, Robin Ellenberger and husband Charles of Boliver, Kelly G. Kutzer and wife Kim of Latrobe; one sister Bertha Kutzer of Greensburg; 8 grandchildren Amanda and Laura Tipton, Brandon Gioia, Cody Kutzer and wife Katie, Caitlin Kutzer, Deven and Madison Burger, and Janelle Palmer ; 2 great grandchildren Nevaeh and Michael King; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends for Ed’s Life Celebration 2-4 and 6-8PM Friday February 9, 2018 in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home 11AM Saturday February 10, 2018 with the Rev. Thomas Kennedy officiating. Interment will be private.
