D. Norma (Moore) Albaugh, 91, of Derry, died on November 26, 2025 at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital surrounded by her adoring family.
She was born on October 6, 1934, in Derry, a daughter of the late Norman “Hock” and Anabel (Foster) Moore.
Prior to retirement Norma worked as a registered nurse and supervisor at Latrobe Area Hospital and at ASB Meditest as a registered nurse. She was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Quartet, Derry First United Methodist Church, and the church choir. She enjoyed traveling the world, biking, tennis, singing, playing piano, playing the organ at church, and spending the winters in Myrtle Beach.
Norma was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Norman Moore, and one sister Nancy Jean Keir.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, William P. “Bill” Albaugh of Derry; two children, Terri Lee Shomo and husband Tom of Blairsville and Tammy Lynne Lyons and husband Kevin of Latrobe, and two grandchildren Heather Lynn Welty and husband Jason of Jeannette and Trenessa Elise Smolleck and husband Stephen of Latrobe; three great grandchildren Asher Lee, Harper Lynne, and Salem Margaret Josephine Smolleck; three siblings are Barry K. Moore, (Ilene, deceased) Erma Lucas Hauser (James, deceased) Sherrie McDonald (Joseph Dewey) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family will receive friends for Norma’s Life Celebration 4-7 Friday, November 28, 2025, PM at the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2025 in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Schweinberg and Pastor Adam Sweigart officiating.
