Arthur S. Haake

Arthur S. Haake, 94, of Derry Twp., died on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Loyalhanna Care Center, Derry Twp.. He was born November 21, 1922 in Superior. Prior to retirement Arthur worked at Derry Westinghouse for 30 years. He served in the US Army. Arthur was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Derry. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. Arthur is preceded in death by his wife Anna (Downey) Haake in 1961, two grandchildren, and one son-in-law Thomas Zeglin. Arthur is survived by his three sons Arthur Haake Jr. of Athens, TN, Alvin Haake and wife Beverly of Derry, and Arnold Haake and wife Jacqueline of Lake City FL; two daughters Mary Ann Zeglin of Latrobe and Marie Giotto and husband Joe of Derry; 10 grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and cousins and friends. Family will receive friends for Arthur’s LIFE CELEBRATION 3-7PM Thursday January 19. 2017 at the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Friday January 20, 2017 at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Derry. Interment will follow at the Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.
