Alma R. (Beatrice) Angus

Alma R. (Beatrice) Angus, 102, of New Derry, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Loyalhanna Care Center. She was born November 16, 1914, in Atlantic, a daughter of the late Giovanni (John) and Eugenia (Rigotti) Beatrice. Alma was a homemaker and a caretaker for her predeceased daughter Dolores Angus. She was a member of the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church in New Derry and St. Martin Rosary Altar Society. Alma enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. Besides her parents and daughter Alma is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Angus Sr. in 1964; one son Edward J. Angus Jr.; three brothers Premo, James, and John Beatrice, and six sisters Esther Moff, Lena Razza, Rose Waggle, Jenny Dofollo, Jean Beatrice, and Mary McClarren. Alma is survived by one son Joseph R. Angus Sr. and wife Linda of New Derry; one daughter Veronica Derk and husband Ronald of Waterford; one brother Louis Beatrice of Latrobe; 7 grandchildren Joseph R. Angus Jr. and wife Roni of Latrobe, Michael Angus and wife Wendy of Derry, Ronald Derk Jr. of Ligonier, Robert Derk and wife Jennifer of Latrobe, Karen Caldwell and husband Tim of Ligonier, Judy Ebberts and husband Mark of Ligonier, and Linda Derk of St. Petersburg, Fl ; 13 great grandchildren Brady, Nate, Lauren, Ashley, Ronald, Gunnar, Liam, Madeline, Kate, John, Rachel, Mark, and Matthew; one great-great granddaughter Ireland; one daughter-in-law Joanne Kuhns Angus of Ligonier; one brother-in –law George DeValerio and wife Cecilia of Bradenville; three sister-in-laws Stella Gallagher of VT, Mary Beatrice of Latrobe, and Dolly Beatrice of Peanut and also numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends for Alma’s Life Celebration, on Thursday June 1, 2017 from 2-8 PM at the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331. St. Martin Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary in the funeral home 2:30PM Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Friday June 2, 2017 in the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church, New Derry with Rev. Meinrad Lawson O.S.B. as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Martin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the activities center at Loyalhanna Care Center 535 McFarland Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
