Donald F. Stiffler

Donald F. (Buff) Stiffler, 77, of New Derry, died November 27, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 27, 1940 in Latrobe, the son of the late John C. and Mildred E. (Shaffer) Stiffler. Prior to retirement Don worked at ICI and Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Service for over 30 years. He was a military veteran of the United States Army. Don was a member of St. Martin Roman Catholic Church. New Derry, Derry and Bradenville VFD for 51 years, Gooseneckers, Chiefs and State Fire Association of PA, Derry Rod and Gun Club, life member of New Derry Sportsman. He loved fishing, hunting, outdoors, and puzzles. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his two sisters Marilyn McPherson and Betty Jean Homerski. Don is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Elizabeth Ann “Dolly” (Vesco) Stiffler of New Derry; daughters Juanita Mazzaferro and husband Dan of New Derry and Lisa Krinock and Douglas of Derry; 3 grandchildren Kyle Squib, Kala Haase and husband Jordan and Zackery Krinock and girlfriend Casey; 2 great grandsons Aaron Squib and Ryder Haase; 2 brother-in- laws Richard Vesco and Louis Vesco and wife Cheryl; 2 aunts and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends for Don’s Life Celebration 2-9PM Thursday November 30, 2017 in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331. The Derry Township Volunteer Fire Department Bradenville and Derry Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a service Thursday 7 PM in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church 10AM Friday December 1, 2017 with the Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola as Celebrant.
