William E. “Bill” Huey Sr., 75, of Derry, died Sunday April 5, 2020 at The Grove at Latrobe. He was born January 19, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Francis and Elsie (Krascun) Huey. Bill was a disabled US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Latrobe. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was Lutheran by faith. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by one sister Donna Askins. Bill is survived by his six children Lisa M. Richardson and husband Shawn of Hannibal, MO, Lori M. Rusnak and husband Jay of Cary, NC, Cheryl L. Smith and husband Skip of Hillside, William J. Huey and wife Deborah of Blairsville, William E. Huey Jr. and wife Jennifer of Morano Valley, CA, and Rebecca Huey Noel and husband Dan of Latrobe; one sister Dorothy Butz and husband Raymond; 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331 to handle the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one choice. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of The Grove at Latrobe for the care of Bill during his stay there.
