Violet A. (Selesky) McIlnay, 91, of Latrobe, died Friday, January 10, 2020, at Bethlen Home, Ligonier surrounded by her family.
She was born May 3, 1928, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Leo and Goldie (Piper) Selesky.
Prior to retirement Violet worked for Latrobe School District as a baker. She was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Violet will be greatly missed. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved God and her church, spending time with and cooking for her family, especially her homemade perogies and apple pie.
Besides her parents Violet was preceded in death by her husband in 1989, Bernard Lester McIlnay; one son Randy McIlnay; two sisters Evie Gardner and Betty Onusko; and one brother Leo Selesky.
Violet is survived by her three sons Lester “Skip” McIlnay and wife Alison, Patrick McIlnay and wife Diane, and Scott McIlnay and wife Yvonne; one brother Frank Selesky and wife Ginny; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family will receive friends for Violet’s Life Celebration on Tuesday January 14, 2020 from 10-11AM at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 1325 Mission Rd., Latrobe, PA 15650
A funeral service will follow for Violet 11 AM in the church with Pastor Bill Schaefer officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Youngstown.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 1325 Mission Rd., Latrobe, PA 15650.
