Edward A. Sherba

Edward A. “Sonny” Sherba Jr., 67, of Hillside, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his home. He was born August 25, 1951 in Latrobe, PA, a son of the late Edward A. Sr. and Florence (Parker) Sherba. Sonny was a constructional steel painter and sandblaster with the Painters Local 409. He was an avid hunter and woodworker. His family referred to him as Mr. Fixit. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. Besides his parents Sonny is preceded in death by two sisters Joyce Sherba and Roseann Marie Henry. Sonny is survived by his devoted wife of 46 ½ years Sandi (Umberger) Sherba of Hillside; one daughter Angela M. Girol and husband Duane of South Park; two sisters Gloria June Hoyman and Carol Sue Ramsey; three grandchildren Sophia, Anthony, and Gianna and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends for Sonny’s LIFE CELEBRATION 2-4 and 6-8PM Thursday January 31, 2019 at the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331.
