Chris A. Maus

Chris A. Maus, 56, of Derry, died Friday, January 4, 2019, at his home. He was born June 7, 1962, in Latrobe, a son of the late Warren R. Sr. and Zella Mary (Roble) Maus. Chris was a graduate of St. Vincent College having earned his B.S. degree in Psychology and a graduate of Duquesne University having earned his Master’s Degree in Education. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Derry and the Knights of Columbus Council 2648. In his time, Chris enjoyed working on projects at St. Joseph’s Church, listening to jazz music, and going to the Summer Sounds Concerts in Greensburg. Chris is survived by his four siblings Kathleen A. Gundaker and husband Dave of Derry, Warren A. Maus and wife Joann of Latrobe, Marilyn A. Nave and husband James of Indiana, and Stephen A. Maus and wife Gloria of Derry, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends for Chris’s Life Celebration on Tuesday January 8, 2019 from 6-8 PM in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry 724-694-8331. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a service 5:30PM Tuesday January 8, 2019 in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Chris 10 AM Wednesday January 9, 2019 at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola as celebrant.
