Linda S. (Sweney) Carr

Linda S. (Sweney) Carr, 74, formerly of Derry, died Tuesday, March 4, 2024 at Embassy of Hillsdale Park, Hillsdale, PA. She was born 1949 in Latrobe, PA, the daughter of the late Charles K. and Florence Sweney. Prior to retirement, Linda was a Psychiatric Aide at Torrance State Hospital. She loved cats. Besides her parents Linda is preceded in death by her first husband Larry Anthony, second husband Robert Carr, and two sons Kenneth Charles Anthony and Shawn Anthony. Linda is survived by one daughter Brittany Vogel and husband Cameron of Marsteller; one sister Irene Zubach of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren Marquell Smith and Delilah Vogel; her cat Joey; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends for Linda’s Life Celebration 10-11 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2024 in the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry 724-694-8331. A Blessing Service will follow in the funeral home at11:00 AM with Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola as officiant. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Derry.
